FULL METAL JACKET
Not your typical subject matter for a kid's Read-Along adventure, Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket was a title too bizarre not to use. I can just imagine the pages devoted to Lee Ermey's Gny. Sgt. Hartman and his tirades - so much so that it seemed superfluous to actually bother mocking one up.
This Read-Along mock-up was heavily influenced by a Rocky Read-Along from the same period. I've also written the text for Ridley Scott's Alien Read-Along adventure in a similar manner to another typical Read-Along trope - altering the narrative of the story so it can be told in first person rather than third.
Unlike most Read-Alongs from the period, my Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome mock-up consists of the actual poster art from the film. My decision for doing this was simple - Richard Amsel's artwork is just too cool not to use. There is a reason why all promotional pieces for the film used this poster, and it made perfect sense to continue that tradition.
